family and all those matter

The meaning of good and bad, of better and worse, is simply helping or hurting.

Today was unusually sunny compare to any other days when it is raining most of the time.Headed to Salvation Army Boys Home to donate unused clothes and toys before heading for late lunch. The place was quiet as children were in the house. You don't see kids running around the compound.

An Indian boy with a piece of paper and pen greeted us at where we put the clothes and toys. He asked whether we want to donate some RM for another orphanage home. They're also helping other home like them . My heart crushed and tears were at the edge of my eyes. It made me think how lucky I am to still have a family when they don't have the privilege. Compare to all orphanage homes, Salvation Army Home for Boys are consider lucky as they're well taken care of. Big companies like G Hotel held event for them each year such as Christmas Gifts Exchange (I participated and donated a black sweat shirt).

fast food

When you're staying on your own, cooking at home will be 2nd choice. Not for everyone I meant. McDonald has been my best buddy for the past few days and had apple pie and hot tea for dinner yesterday as I ate like a pig during breakfast and lunch with the boys. I wonder why I had 'big tummy' yesterday. My appetite shoot rocket high. And since I ate quite a lot, I skipped supper (I always have supper on weekend coz I don't have to wake up early the next day).

Anyway, woke up early in the morning (roughly 8am) as I planned to have McD's breakfast the night before. Set my alarm at 6am. And as usually, plan tak jadi. Was supposed to wake even earlier during the weekdays so that I can buy the breakfast set for my colleague as well but having hard time to wake up...as usual...

So with much of confidence, I drove to Greenlane McD as they're having promotion of buy anything more than RM5, you will get 2 free big breakfast. Promotion ends 31st March. More details, visit McDonald website.I thought I was the earliest but I guess, some people are earlier. The drive-in queue line are so long until the main road. Need not to mention the line in the restaurant itself. So I drove off and bought Transfer Road roti canai. With the weather so cold, I made myself a jug of Nescaffee (damn), sat in front of the tv and enjoy my breakfast when some people are still queuing for their breakfast:-) I think by the time, they reach their turn, it would be lunch. Ahahahahahaha...

work and work and work

the hooded one is Benson and the blur face is Jason

When everyone is snuggling under the blanket at home, I'm punching numbers and clicking my mouse on Google, finding info for my semester final project. Accompanied by 2 heroes, I'm the only female species stuck between them. But you know what, it is fun to work with them. We laugh a lot definitely even we have 'discrepancies' at times. We study in the same class(only certain subjects) and end up in the same project group :-)

We decided to have our meeting in GSB lounge (Graduate School of Business) where the disturbance and distraction are low apart from Facebook, YouTube and blog entry (which is by me). And the temperature is bearable unlike in the library where you'll freeze to death especially with the rainy season that has been going on for days. People might think you're doing revision until you've forgotten or surroundings.

Anyway, I've been following Kimberly's blog . It is interesting and my favorite part are posts on recipes. They look yummy and delicious. You should check it out.

there's always rainbow after the rain

Photo was taken during our visit to grandma's graveyard. It was before we head back to Penang after our CNY celebration with the family in Trengganu.

Looking at the picture make me feel grateful of what I have now. A perfect partner and a great family. Yes, at times I'd ask myself, why can't I have better things than what I have now but you know what, not everyone has the privilege to have what I have. At times we do have our setback and misunderstanding with each other but doesn't mean we don't care about one another it's just that we show it differently.

Sometimes we have to fall in order for good things to happen. And it all depends on how strong you're. But when you're not, that is when the 'meltdown' happen. Not everyone have the strength, so am I. Prayers are the only help we have when all way out are block.

I used and still complaining about my life but I'm human created by God so I can't help myself in that sense. So do you. Humans will never be satisfied with what they have therefore they will strive for more. Up to a point they forget how to be normal.

What I'm seeking now is just happiness and peace. Working hard for my goals...

torn between hearts and soul

have you ever feel as if you're torn between 2 decision. it is easy to say 'things gonna be fine' when it isn't. And that's when you turn to God to seek for peace and a way out. Hoping that He will enlighten your way. It is hard I admit. I've been through so many hardship in life but not like this. at times I'll be thinking how grateful I am compare to those people who has more problem than me. but when you have to face the situation on your own, it feels like the whole world come trembling down on you. and when it doesn't go your way, that's when you feel like giving up. you may have best friends or family members who care about you but still you find it hard to find the words.
at times I feel like giving it lose will be the best way out but feels reluctant.

what's hard in life

“In life you are going to make mistakes, you're going to fall down, but it's the getting up that counts. Just like in baseball: you'll get a few hits, but most likely, you'll strike out more than you'll get on base. But don't quit. Find your focus, relax, take a deep breath and give it a good swing"

a burnt down country

The picture above were taken from CNN following the after earth quake tragedy. See how much differences it caused? Imagine if it is Malaysia. The earthquake that shook Japan has changed the layout of their country in the world's map. It looked like part of the place were burnt down. No one can imagine how suffer they're now. This is even worst than the 2004 tsunami.

a nuclear plant in Malaysia??????

We've been hearing about nuclear radiation for the past days since the explosion of one of the nuclear plant in Fukushima and rumors has been spreading around about the effect, danger and risk.Panic around the world has led to people staying at home, stock market went down steeply and prices of basic necessities also increases especially in Japan when demand of that basic things are high. We,in Malaysia are still lucky of having the pleasure to eat anything we want, stepping into a supermarket without having to worry anything whereby people of Japan are staying in cold and hunger.

I've been following Japan's development since it happened on Friday and honestly said I'm moved and feel guilty for not able to do anything except watching. Imagine if it were to happen in Malaysia? And the government planned to built a nuclear power plant in Malaysia. Handling a nuclear plant is not the same as handling the Tenaga Nasional power plant. Do you know how strict are the rules and regulation when it comes to handling a nuclear plant. If there are 10 precaution steps of handling that kind of plant, you will and need to follow all 10 steps. Malaysian does not have the discipline in that matter, so why waste time to built one. They always find a shorter way in carrying out the task. The shortest possible way is the best. Instead focus on boosting the country's economy and political situation. This is truly a waste of the people's tax payment. Malaysia will never learn their lesson. Having the thought or even the idea of building a nuclear power plant is bloody ridiculous. We have surplus of energy resources. So I don't understand why do we need one?? Is the government out of their mind. God Gracious... Or Malaysia just wants to compete with other country. Take for example the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Why do we need another airport when we can just upgrade the Subang airport.See what I mean. And why do we need the KL Tower?..

quote of the day

Keep love in your heart. A life without it is like a sunless garden when the flowers are dead. The consciousness of loving and being loved brings a warmth and richness to life that nothing else can bring.
Oscar Wilde

*By the way, I'm currently obsess with the orange dress that this girl wore with a jeans jacket. I love to see how she mix and match her wardrobe. So colorful. He name is Shea Rasol. I've been following her blog for the past 1 year. How interesting.

let us pray for the people of Japan

Some of the pictures were taken around Graduate School of Business as well as during my way for lunch.
It has been raining for the past weeks but this time it rained radiation. People are advise to stay indoor and if they have to go out, use umbrella or raincoat. Expecting a lot of cars on the road for the next few days.

The necklace I wore(which is my favorite currently) was bought in Singapore during my Christmas trip last year. S$9.90. Cheap ain't it? It is a horoscope necklace even though it is not my star.

I'm grateful that I can still wake up to the morning breeze, have a warm bath, have a nice breakfast where else in Japan people are fighting to survive. Even a clean water to drink is like rabbit hunting. To get 1 meal a day is like finding the rarest diamond on earth. 3 disaster for one country. Isn't that too much to handle. God, we pray that you'll ease the burden of these people. Give them strength to live for themselves and their family. Your test on earth are far too great for us to carry. Help save the innocent life.

*Well, let us all ray that God be with us through these hard times. Show us the way and guide us through all this.

8.9 earthquake in Japan

All of our prayers goes to all victims in Japan who suffered severe tsunami attack and earthquake that wrecked millions of houses and thousands that went missing. May God be with you.

some are true some are not

true friend?? Not sure myself

Do you have a close friend? I bet everyone of us does. How does your good friend treat you? Colder or the bond is still as strong as a diamond. Well today's post will be about friends. Let me tell you a story and you decide what kind of friend I have because I'm not sure myself.

When I was in college, I have a close friend who I share stories with, laugh and cry together. Where ever we go,we'll go together. We took different course. He took education and I took business but that didn't shake our friendship. Yes, there are times we argued but we made up. Life won't be colorful without a little negativity in it right?. So, as time goes by, we graduated. After years of hard work. Still our friendship still remain the same. I work in Penang and he got offered some where else which I won't mention here in the name of respect. So years goes by, he got a new sets of friends so do I. I admit that sometimes I do miss him. Remembering those time when we were still teenagers. It was a whole lot of fun. Nothing to worry.Carefree world. I still cherish our friendship. So as time passes by, I get less phone calls or text from him. I assumed he was busy as both of us are working adults now. I understand that. But after a while, I notice that he only calls when there's business related. As time goes by, a gap existed between us. We no longer send sms to each other just ask how are we doing and that kind of thing. I still meet him once in a while when ever he's here. Even at times, I don't even know he's here. And when ever I ask him why he didn't tell me that he's coming he'll say 'Oh I have something to do, Couldn't make it to meet you'. I can still accept that excuse a few times but later on it's just a lame excuse. Can't he take an effort to meet up even just for a few minutes? I'm not sure whether is it worth to maintain this friendship or let it surpass me.

Frankly speaking, I'm not sure whether he feels that I'm a friend with benefit or a true friend.

Happy International Women's Day

So today marked International Women's Day. This celebration is to celebrate women around the world. To appreciate what they have done that changed the world and what makes a part of the world we live in today. As we know women played and still play an important role in every aspect of our everyday life. Be it in the social sector or high-post ranking in the government or private sector. But sadly, women are only about 60% part of it. And still many big companies are sceptical of hiring women in the board. In Norway, there are sets of ruling that every company must follow and one of it is,every company must have at least 40% women in their board of directors and surprisingly they follow the rules and not a single company went bankrupt instead they're doing very well. I think we should implement that kind of rules in Malaysia as well. People think that women belong in the kitchen and their job are taking care of the kids, takes care of the house. Basically staying at home and doing the house chores. That mind set has long gone in women's head. Hei, this is 21st century okay. We even have women police and soldier. So what's not possible that a women can't take?
Even universities are populated by women than man. Problem is, women are not given the chance to try things or given a responsibilities to prove that they're able to do work. Take Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir for intstance. See how powerful she is...She is the role model of every women in Malaysia as well as an active activist. She stood up for women in Malaysia and defended the importance of equality between men and women. Yes, we can't deny that in some part, women can't do a man's job. But at least the equality in segregating task is practice.
but I do hope that in the future, we can see more women stand out...

over the weekend

As final exam coming next month, I was busy as a bee over the weekend. Replacement class to attend, meetings, assignments due and tutorial to finish up. The lecturer won't let us pass easily ain't he??. Anyway, had class yesterday. Replacement one actually. Then went for lunch, bought movie ticket for the night session(I need a break as well ok), dinner and went home for bed. It was tiring though. Feels like 24 hours wasn't enough. Tomorrow's gonna be Monday. I've noticed lately that weekend passes by so fast. I don't think I had time to even catch a breath and it is Monday already with classes to attend.

random photos

Just some random photos posted as I had nothing to do at home. Wanted to open my textbook to do some revision but end up taking these 2 photos and watching tv. Life's great isn't it.
As I was driving earlier, there was a car who wanted to overtake me but did not gave any indicator. She just turned without looking behind whether it is safe to make a turn or not. Best part is she was on the phone. Stupid!!! PFH 8533 please be a considerate driver. If you don't love your own life, others do so if you want to end your life horrifically, you can go ahead. Do not drag others along....
